Everybody knows a little about gardening and some of us know quite a lot. It would be great to be able to share some of this knowledge and skills so we can all be a little bit more shrewd, a bit cleverer about our everyday gardening.
There are many styles of gardening and in a temperate zone like the UK it is possible to choose the style of gardening to some extent. There are many ‘dry’ gardens and the style is very popular as it is quite modern. I guess it’s been that way for quite a while.
There isn’t quite so much choice if you live in the extreme North or South and the seasons are very short. Living very high will have a big effect on what you can grow.
These problems are part of the fun of gardening though. It may be that if you live in a wet area and really want the effect of a dry garden then you’ll just have to find a shrewd way of creating it. But that’s what gardening is all about, creating what you want whatever the odds.
