Projects
All of us have projects in the garden. It doesn’t matter if it takes an hour, a day or even years. The important thing is that we’re trying to improve our environment, make it more personal and special.
Designing a garden for yourself can be wonderfully simple process, after all you don’t need to consult anyone. Do you? Anyone with a family will be familiar with the idea of trying to work out all the contradictory needs of all the people involved. Are you a dictator who specifies what goes where or are you more democratic and listen to everyone elses views.
On a professional level. In designing gardens for clients there’s often quite an art to finding the design that meets an often stringent set of criteria. Not least the cost of a new garden. In the following pages I’ll lay out some of the professional projects that I’ve done and hope to provide some insights into how you might be able to think about gardening yourself.
